Sometimes, it is appropriate to change directions. Not all decisions will have the luxury of a foreknowledge of all the applicable facts. Generally, we are required to make decisions on information we have, as we move forward. When we gain valuable information, we may require re-evaluating the direction of our journey, but we must be careful about abandoning goals.
If difficulty dissuades us from a chosen path, we may never succeed at anything substantial, if we are constantly running from difficulties. Many do this as an automatic reaction facing difficulties. In doing so, it will gradually lead to a chaotic life.
Fear is the motivator decision constantly changes to escape the pain that true achievement requires. It is commonly seen in challenging relationships. Relationships infused with fear will be subject to the fluctuation between staying and leaving each course creating its own pain to be avoided. But when we are able to resolve and do something about it, wisdom teaches that quitting at first sign of difficulty will severely limit the possibility of success and of a flourish life.
