Major depression is one of the most common mental disorders. But despite how common
the illness is many people do not understand exactly, what it means to have chronic depression. Major depression is one of the most tragically misunderstood illnesses.
Depression and fear robs an individual before they even begin. Depression and mental
illness have no boundaries and should be taken serious. Depression strikes people at
any age. Depression affects all walks of life.
We all go through depression at some point in our lives especially from the loss of loved
ones, tragedy and trauma. It’s human to feel sadness. People often think of it, as being
the same as sadness. The profound sadness that stems from grief is similar like the sadness depression entails. But we can’t let depression escalate and take control over
our lives.
Symptoms of depression extend far beyond feeling sad and may include: restlessness, agitation, irritability, chronic fatigue, lethargy, insomnia or excessive sleeping, difficulty concentrating, isolating oneself in darkness, or loss of interest and pleasure in normal activities.
Each and every circumstance of loss, rejection, neglect, abuse, illnesses, low self-esteem, low self-worth and pure pressure can trigger depression. Depression holds an individual back more than their own insecurities, fears and doubts.
Lack of self-confidence, self-esteem and self-worth can slow a depressed individual down
or even keep them stagnant. If you are suffering from severe depression, don't let that stop you from taking a step today to change your life. Discover for yourself that action actually builds your self-esteem, and as you move forward your confidence will grow.
Depressed individuals may also try to mask their sadness by turning to other outlets, so
that others would not know that they do suffer from major depression. Depressed
individuals look at things in a different way. They believe their issues and problems cause
all other aspects of life to pale into insignificance.
It may seem difficult but a depressed individual need to be strong to face their fears and conquer their depression. Stop running away from it. It’s undeniably a battle and a struggle but you can challenge it and conquer it. Have the courage to call a lifeline or anyone, and tell them what you are feeling and get professional help. Take each day at a time and you will get stronger in thoughts, mind, body and soul.
Everything in this world was declared impossible before it was actually done. Find a permanent solution to a temporarily problem. You can be treated and healed. There are many reasons to be hopeful.
When you are feeling fearful, tense, worried or stuck, just remember you have been here before and you have always worked your way through it. You are so much stronger, and so much more capable than you think. Just look at all you have already dealt with and remind yourself, you are still here!
You might need to look back to see, how you got here and where you might be headed.
You must keep going forward because it’s your journey, wherever it goes. When you find yourself doubting how far you can go, just remember how far you have come. Remember
everything you have faced and challenged, all the battles you have won and all the fears you have overcome.
You don’t always get it right and things don’t always go your way. Sometimes, you are scared and anxious and worry about things you can’t control. You make mistakes and have regrets. But remember you can BEGIN AGAIN.
We have all been there and there’s a very good chance, we will each be there again. And although the circumstances vary widely, we know that the solution is always the same; there are times for each of us simply have to begin again!
When you are brave through the more challenging times, you really get to know and trust yourself in a deeper way, and through that you grow and evolve into more grounded, wiser and more loving and confident person. Sometimes a gentle reminder is all it takes.
The simplicity of the truth is overshadowed by your fear of being judged by others. Once
you come out from the shadows, you will see how liberated and empowered you truly are. Don’t stay in a place that causes you pain. The world is big and beautiful to enjoy it and
find happiness. It’s up to you to make healthy choices not only for your body but healthy
for your Mind.
Those with depression reading this; please value your life and don’t cut it short. When you are in that dark place, you don’t see anything positive. Just know that you are loved and deserve to be happy. Act upon your best interest from a center of love and respect. When you love yourself, you take care of YOU. When you take care of you, you can take care of
others.
Your life is worth it. You are worth it. Remember you are LOVED. Remember there is a whole world of people out there that cares about you. If you knew how much people genuinely care and how valuable your life is, you would know that your life is worth fighting for.
Be dedicated to your life. Be dedicated to YOU. Before you fall asleep tonight, let go of any self-recriminations and rest. Know you have done your best and push your worries aside and just rest. When your heads finally hit the pillows tonight think about the people you love, those nearby, those far away. Remember to count your blessings and invites sleep to gently find you.
Sometimes, we don't think anyone cares, but we are wrong.
We are loved. We are needed.
Someone wants our care and outreach.
Someone's life is looking for yours to be well and in theirs.
Someone is counting on us to be consistently us.
Your life is the difference to someone else.
