Fear has its way of consuming us. It leaves us with a gnawing pit in our stomach, which we recognized as anxiety and sometimes guilt. Everything from that point forward feels off and out of place. Perhaps there’s something in our lives, or ourselves we would rather not face up to.
Given the things that all of us would do in the face of fear; it goes without saying that a significant amount of energy goes towards entertaining our fears. The more we concentrate on something positive or negative, the more energy we have to put towards its expansion.
Trying to control what we fear will increase the likelihood it will happen. If we spend a great deal of time avoiding what we are afraid of, we have essentially helped to recreate it in our own reality.
If paying attention to your fear is only making it grow, it’s best that you take a step back and return at a later time. It certainly isn’t going anywhere on its own, willingly that is. Be aware of the fact by allowing your fear to escalate, you keep this struggle at the center of your existence. Worrying about future events or things that you have no control over impedes the positive flow that letting go could help facilitate.
