It can be overwhelming having to deal with a relationship that brings you more pain than happiness. The future seems uncertain or blocked and the thought of this depress you. You choose to call a halt to a relationship that brings you down more than it lifts you up.
Instead of looking backward into the past, think of this separation as an opportunity to start over and bounce back even higher. Without a doubt, it is a certainty in life that things will change. There are times when we enjoy the changes and other times when they can be painful. There are also things in our lives that remain constant.
However, just as we must remain open to the changes in our family, births, weddings, new members and different situations, we also have to remain wide awake to our constant faith that works in our life. It’s the closeness to reality. ~ Author Julia G. Smith. Sometimes, the kind heart and listening ears of another can change how you feel, or the perspective of your day. It often doesn't take a lot of words but just the sincere connection.
Sometimes just telling someone you appreciate them can bring sunshine to their day. It's good to never hold back when you feel that sense of appreciation. It really takes so little to show someone, they are warm in your thoughts. Many simple principles guide our lives. We enlist them into our lives every day. We often get to decide what principles we like, and we then give them meaning.
One of those principles is that people will remember how you made them feel, long after you have spent time with them. It's part of how we make friendships, find loving relationships, and create common interests. People who make us feel important, treasured, valuable, and respected are those, we want to have in our lives. We find ourselves drawn to them by the way they increase joy in our lives. Going through extreme tough challenges does change one’s life especially, when you look ahead and can't see any future, or when you just can’t go on anymore. It gets lonely and you are embraced by darkness of confusion and despair.
In such moments, I want you to stop whatever you are doing and pause for a moment. Sit down, close your eyes and visualize that everything will be alright and tell yourself, you will get through it. You can't give up now. No matter how long it takes, just keep fighting and never ever give up. Let go of the judgement you have about what you should be, or could be doing, and allow yourself to simply be. You are doing the best you can to cope and survive amid your struggles, and that’s all you can ask of yourself. Trust that in this moment of who you are, where you are at, and what you are doing is enough. You will get to where you need to be in your own time. Let whatever you do today be enough. Until then, breathe and be patient with yourself and your process. Always stay strong and assertive. Take control of your decisions. People might tell you what direction to take and what choice is best for you, but ultimately you're the one who knows best.
Stop looking to others for guidance about your life and start finding the solutions within you. However hard it may be, don’t let dilemma paralyze you. And whatever you do, or don’t do, don’t leave the decision to others! |
