Trust Your Journey As You Age
We all want to live a long and prosperous life. Having a long life span is a lofty goal,
but one most of us want. We all have to grow older as this is part of life. Aging is a very important stage in the life of a person. We must prepare ourselves psychologically, physically to enjoy it and live it, without it being compared to the other stages of life.
Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that our future will always be bright and cheerful.
You have probably seen people that shut themselves away from the world, as they get older. Sadly too often, they fade into an aimless, sad and lonely existence. You may have also seen vibrant people, who grew into self-assured, happy and active individuals
with purpose in life.
Age is often feared or sometimes not rejoiced in. There are those who think aging is the worst thing. Please do not give into the voices of fear of aging. The less your body and
soul reacts to it, the younger you will feel inward and outward. Please do not let the fear
of getting older stop you from living a fulfilled life of new hopes and dreams. Embrace
your age and see it as a gift of new opportunities to move forward and challenge yourself
to age gracefully.
When my wonderful dad was alive, he used to say “age is only a number.” It is what you
do with your life to make yourself happy and make it meaningful that matters. I totally agree with him. One of the joys of getting older is the wonderful memories we have collected and shared over the years. As we get older, the history and the memories of our lives are the most unforgettable moments. Each stage of life is beautiful and in our old age, we collect
the fruits of our lives.
As we get older, we will understand that it is not about what we look like, or what we own.
It is all about the person we have become. It is through the years that teach us things that will not deliver in youth or beauty.
Through wisdom of age, things we once did not see, we now see. We understand the value
of a day and we learn to take very good care of it. We value the ones we love and hold them closely to our hearts. We see what love and forgiveness can do against hatred or indifference. We see that wisdom could not come any other way than the way, it did. We realize this is how life supposed to be. The acquiring of wisdom through experience and trial and error is a great blessing to gather.
Embrace the changes that age brings.
We will change from our bodies to our minds and everything in between, age is inevitable. As we age, we have to embrace and learn new ways to except the changes and experiences life tosses at us. Don’t let the changes rule you, rather make the most of your experience. What you need to concentrate on right now is enjoying life.
The aging process is more traumatic for those who think they can control the passage
of time. The process of aging is inevitable. The important thing is to accept our age, as the years are noticeable and to continue fulfilling our lives. It is not to control the nature of the facts but to live every moment to the fullest. It is essential that we love ourselves, as we are.
Live every moment and each stage of your life gracefully. Accept aging with dignity and pride. Be thankful and privilege, you were given a ‘long life span’ to live your life, as it is
with time.
Remember, you are more amazing than you know despite of your age. There are scores
of people waiting for someone just like you to come along. We are on an amazing journey of self-discovery as we get older. We are connecting with our gifts, seeing life through different eyes and stepping into your authentic vision.
Each and every day is a new day to start anew.
Each birthday is a new beginning.
You are only as old, as you think you are.
Good habits you should take up to have a long life span.
Maintain a good sleeping pattern. Try to maintain a good sleeping pattern to get enough sleep. Find a sleep pattern that works for you and stay rested. A well-rested body performs at its best and offers protection against illness and fatigue. Sleep is vital for recovery, restoring and regenerating of the body. It reduces stress and keeps wear and tear off your body.
Eat healthy
Keep your body lively through healthy diets. Eat well not just as you get older, but in each stage of life. Food is such a vital part of your life. Make sure it is fuel for your body and not damaging. A healthy diet is one of the best ways to improve your quality of life and maintain it for a long, long time.
Be active and work out.
A body at rest stays at rest. A body in motion stays in motion. It would be in your best
interest to stay in motion daily. Before you do any exercises, please check with your doctor. Exercise becomes a vital factor in maintaining a healthy and happy life; well into the golden years. Keeping fit with exercise when you are young can help you stay active when older, and offer a great way to stay social for years to come.
Mental exercises for an active mind.
Keep your mind sharp and maintain a competitive edge. There are various projects that
you can play such as crossword puzzles, chess games, monopoly, reading or even
writing. You will find that learning to love these types of strategy activities, when you are young will give you something to excel at, as you age. Having a healthy dose of competitive mental activities flowing will keep your mind sharp and your days full, no matter what stage in life.
Nurture and exercise your mind with new experiences, new information, new friends, interests and challenges. If you embrace new opportunities, seek new learning and stay
motivated and lively at heart. You can still do anything. In fact given the wisdom and experience you have amassed over the years, you can probably do more today than you have ever been able to do before. You gain strength, confidence and courage by every experience through the years.
Learn to love adventure.
Many things will change in your lifetime. Be open to all the experience that a long life span can bring. Explore your surroundings and if you can, travel the world or even the country. Find things outside of your home that you love and embrace them. Share your stories of histories filled with memories.
Love unconditionally.
As you get older, many of the things that you find most appealing today, may not be a huge
part of your life in the future. Many of the petty problems that can often drive a wedge into families happen, when you are younger and more proud.
Make time for those who you love at every stage of your life. Love your spouse, your children, your family and your friends unconditionally. Maintain the bond and hold on to those close to you. Love unconditionally and you will find a loving, caring support system shines through when other things fade.
Don’t miss your yearly doctor’s visits.
Health is our responsibility and nobody else. We know what makes us better and what
makes us worse, what we can do or not to in order to evade exacerbating pre-existing conditions or precipitating them. Therefore; it is up to us to be honest about ourselves, our health, and our situations so that things works better.
You need to start now and take care of yourself. Just as illness seems to compound on itself, staying healthy also does. Do not hesitate to visit your doctor and make sure you take care of your teeth at the dentist. It is the little things that slip when we are younger that can cause massive problems later in life. Health and happiness is an every moment opportunity and choice. It flows wherever you chose it to go. Stay healthy and fit. Your long life span self will thank you.
It is never too late to enjoy your life. Enjoying your life is an every moment contract, negotiable with only you and how you want the rest of your life to be. Stay in touch with the world no matter how old you are. ~♥~
