Depression face huge challenges.
When life’s giving you some hurdles, it can be easy to feel small and insignificant. When
you are going through something truly difficult, you may just want to roll over and give up. Everyone feels like that sometimes, when they are facing challenges.
There are those who seem to think that if we are sad, depressed, angry, or anything but happy that it is a terrible thing. Of course, we should strive to be generally happy. But we
are allowed to have fleeting moments of intense emotions, even if they overwhelm us.
If you are facing a huge challenge that is truly difficult, let your emotions out and talk
to people who care about you. The phrase about keeping feelings or emotions 'bottled up'
is an interesting one. When we insist on keeping feelings and emotions at bay, they have a tendency to build up to a point where they become released eventually.
Like a shaken bottle of fizzy drink, they often emerge with such force that in hindsight was unnecessary. If you are really sad about something, let it all out and don’t bottle it inside.
It will consume you.
There are times when you fail at something, or you are facing a challenge and you think;
“I will never be good enough and I might as well give up.” Stop dwelling on your depression or at least the painful parts of it! Take a good look at your future instead, and think about all the positive things that lie ahead.
To all those who are struggling with depression or any addiction, please know that you can overcome and live a life being free. Most of what we learn about ourselves, we learn during our struggles. It only takes a moment of bravery to change your life forever.
Life is sometimes, unfair. But we should not let it destroy us. Stop giving depression the power to control your future, and take your life back one moment at a time.
Recognize the need to be good to yourself. You deserve to be pampered. To pamper yourself you don’t have to take the whole day off, you can simply integrate small moments
of pampering into your everyday life. Sometimes you just need a break, to catch your breath and restore your natural rhythms. Pampering is not a forbidden pleasure but a necessity. Think of it as something you need to do, for “You.”
Laughter.
Laughter strengthens your lungs. Laughter is the best relief of stress and the best medicine to heal your body mind and soul.
Perseverance.
Perseverance is a road or a bridge, a specific course or path we all walk down. When you feel hopeless and lost that is when perseverance counts the most. Perseverance is consciously choosing to stay on your path even in the midst of incredible difficulties.
Show compassion for those who suffer from chronic depressions.
Show compassion for those who are afflicted by this illness and not cast them out of
society. No one is immune to stress, anxiety and depression. We should not ridicule them
or be extremely judgmental. Every individual has a place to fill in the world.
There are those who may appear to have a fantastical life, have dark struggles we never know about. Please, if someone close to you suffers, do not look at their accomplishments,
but what goes on inside their mind. If you know someone that needs help, no matter their status, possessions, accomplishments, encourage them to get help.
No person is immune. Please, if someone close to you suffers, do not look at their accomplishments or lack of, but understand what goes on inside their mind. If you know someone who struggle with the dreadful illness, encourage them to get help. Show them your compassion and support.
