We don't always adopt contrary positions when someone tells us something. We assess what's being told to us and decide how true or valid it is, but there are times when we're quite happy to agree with what's being said. Doing so tends to make for a much less stressful or tense exchange, if we're reassured what we're being told is something, we're willing to subscribe to.

Keeping a secret can be a heavy load to carry and prevents you to move forward.
When we feel we need something, it's because we're certain what we need isn't available or within reach. We believe absence exists and make it our mission to fill it.
Sometimes, we believe something to be missing when, in actual fact, it is available to us. Sometimes, what we need that is available doesn't jump out and grab out attention. It wants to be found. Most of the time, what we need is something we already have, perhaps not in abundance, but we do have it. Avoid getting caught up in silly “she said he said.”
Sometimes it's best to acknowledge that people have their own opinions which might be completely different from your own, but which should be respected. What criteria do you set for who matters most to you? That can be a difficult question to answer.
We all have people, who has been a part of our lives for as long as, anyone can remember, but does that make them closer to us than someone, we've known for a fraction of the time? As time passes, it will become clear who is really 'with' you and who is 'with' you more out of habit. Each of us has limits to what we'll tolerate from others. We take into account many factors when deciding what that limit is. Sometimes, it's easier to walk away than enter into or perpetuate an argument.
We have hundreds of ways to express our feelings, through words and gestures both large and small. All too often however, we keep our feelings to ourselves assuming that those we care for know how much they mean to us. The truth is they often don’t. The next chance you get, tell that special someone how much joy, they bring into your life. Let them know how special they are to you. Enter new relationships for the right reasons and not just to fill the void in your life.
Enter new relationships with dependable, honest people who reflect the person you are and the person you want to be. Choose friends you are proud to know, people you admire, who show you love and respect. Interact with people who reciprocate your kindness and commitment. Make sure you pay attention to a person’s actions for it is much more important than their words or how others represent them. |
