What to do when bad things happens.
We don't always know why bad things happen. Disappointment and difficulties may never be explained. You may never fully understand why a partner left you for someone else, or why management passed you up for a promotion. No doubt there will be times in your life when you are left overwhelmed and pondering as to "why?" Finding answers isn't always possible.
Letting go when there is no understanding of "why" is very hard. Our culture places such emphasis on finding answers. But finding answers isn't everything. Your life should not stop, when you don't understand events. Instead you must learn to let go in order to get on with your life. If you can't get answers, let go of the frustration of asking "why?" We all have problems. The way we solve them is what makes us different.
Have you ever experienced times, when you go through just one bad thing after another? When it seems like the whole world is out to get you. When things goes wrong no matter what you do. You are not alone. Bad things happen to all of us too, including me.
They are many possible negative things that can happen to us in a day. Such as, people criticize you, losing our valuables, getting into a car accident, losing loved ones, breaking up from relationships or losing our jobs.
When something bad happens to us, we feel victimized. We ask ourselves "why is this happening to me?" It's not fair. We lash back at the situation, or even people around us for what's happening. We make self-depreciating comments like "Why I am so stupid to have done that?"
For those of us who have faced depression before, we might fall back, if we are not careful at managing our emotions. We lose hope, or worse still, we give up from being dejected. We decide it's not worth it, that life is out to get us, and we should just stop trying altogether. We want to pain to go away. We want things to go back to the way things were.
As long as you live in this world, you are subjected to the same chaos, the ups and downs, the good and bad, the positives and negatives of life. You are not the only one facing this. What sets you apart from others though is; how you choose to deal with the situation.
Here are my personal views to cope with bad situations. You need to release your frustrations and don't bottle them in because you might just implode. You need to talk to a friend of someone professional. A listening ear does wonders.
No matter what you may think, you're not alone in this. Someone around the world, someone else is thinking the exact same thing as you. Someone out there is feeling down and out too, wondering why she/he is experiencing this. You are rightfully frustrated but it isn't going to solve anything. It will create more problems, as your agitation prevents you from making good decisions.
No matter what happens, you always have a choice in how you react. While you may not be able to control what happens to you, you must still be strong for yourself and your loved ones. We need to objectify it, an incident is an incident; we are responsible for the feelings attached. It will help us to cope better. No matter what bad challenges comes your way, as long as you cope with it constructively. It's the only way to deal with the pain. You need to know when to let go. If the circumstances can be fixed, we need to make wise and responsible choices to make a difference in your life.
